This season

Planned litters, never a puppy mill.

We plan a small number of litters each year so every pup gets real time with us, its mother and its littermates. That means there's sometimes a wait — and we think that's exactly how it should be.

Pups are bred from working parents and go to homes that will give them a job to love: working farms, dog-sport homes, and active families who understand what a border collie needs.

Right now: Ask us for puppy availability — get in touch about current and upcoming litters and we’ll let you know what’s expected and when. We keep a short waiting list.

Before they leave— the first eight weeks

How our pups are raised.

Eight weeks is a short window, and everything a pup meets in it shapes the dog it becomes. Here's how ours spend it.

Weeks 0–2

Quiet and close

In the whelping box with their mother — warmth, sleep and gentle daily handling from the very first days.

Weeks 3–5

The world arrives

Eyes and ears open, and the household moves in: people, children, new surfaces underfoot and the ordinary noise of a busy farm home.

Weeks 5–8

Out and about

The garden, the bakkie, livestock at a respectful distance — sheep, sounds and travel introduced gently, during the weeks that matter most.

Week 8 and on

That'll do — time to go home

Vet-checked, dewormed and vaccinated to age, and not a day too early. We match each pup to its home by temperament and energy, never first-come, first-served.

Faces

Good questions— the things everyone asks

Before you enquire.

How do I reserve a Bonnielass puppy?

Send us an enquiry telling us about your home or farm and what you'd like the dog to do. We keep a short waiting list and match pups to homes by temperament and energy rather than first-come, first-served.

When can a puppy come home?

Not before eight weeks — and not a day before a pup is ready. Every puppy leaves vet-checked, dewormed and vaccinated to age, with its health record.

Do you only sell to working farms?

No — our pups also go to dog-sport homes and active families. What matters is that the dog gets a job to love: herding, agility, running, training games. A working brain needs work.

Can you get a puppy to me if I live far away?

We'd always rather you visit — it's good for you to meet the dogs and good for us to meet you. Where that's not possible, talk to us and we'll work out safe transport together.

What do puppies cost?

It varies by litter, so ask us when you enquire. We're a small kennel breeding for temperament and working ability, not volume — we'd rather have the right home than the quickest sale.
